I’ve been doing Tarot spreads for most of my life now. It’s how I put food on my table and I get flack sometimes for saying this but yes, you can absolutely do a Tarot reading for yourself.

There are certainly problems with it and it’s very easy to misread because you’re more likely to let bias slip in but as long as you’re prepared for this and learn to read the cards then you absolutely can.

In the shorter term, if you’d like me to do a tarot spread for you just click here and send me the details. Your reading will be sent to you within a few hours tops.

So, can you do a tarot reading for yourself? Well, in short yes, the long answer is… it’s complicated.

Tarot is old magic. Originating in Italy and France, the art of tarot is the art of connecting with one’s higher self. The idea is that connecting with your essential soul is a way of getting in touch with yourself. It reveals the hidden parts of our personality to give us a deeper understanding of our souls and therefore what’s happening in our lives.

To quote; tarot tells the truth we dare not tell ourselves.

To start with, tarot readings require an open mind. If you have a specific answer in mind, then the tarot reading will only show you that which you seek to hear. Interpretation is based on intensive study and intuition. You must be careful when conducting your own readings, keep your mind open, like when reading results in quantum physics, your expectations and predictions influence reality and the readings.

You must strive to be as objective as possible, which is difficult, however, you can be more intensive and more vulnerable when conducting your own readings. Plus money, money, money. Tarot reads run to $30 or $40 a session whether you find the answers you seek or not. The difference is between being guided by an expert and doing it the layman’s style, but the price difference is tempting, plus it’s convenient.

The key to a successful tarot reading is to ask the right questions. They are the signposts and maps to lead you to the answers you seek. You have all the answers within you, tarot spiritualists will tell you, you just need the cards to amplify your inner voice and show what’s already inside you, to hold up a mirror and point the way to go.
