Now I’m answering it as someone who makes their living from doing Tarot spreads for other people.

YES.

… and also, no.

You absolutely can read your own Tarot cards and I love it when people take the time to learn. However, there are some drawbacks to this as well. Even if you do have the experience of a Tarot reader who’s been doing it for years it’s very easy for bias to sneak into your spread.

I very, very rarely will do a spread for myself for this exact reason but I will from time to time and as long as you’re concious of that, if nothing else it will help you better understand the Tarot.

Tarot cards seem to offer guidance. Tarot reading can reveal the depths of your soul or what is going on with someone else in your life. However, it can be pricey, or scary, maybe you only want to try it out.

And the answer to that question is yes. You can read your own tarot cards. Sort of. It’s complicated. You need to study. Like any profession or skill, you must learn tarot to be able to practice and understand it.

There are many courses out there that promise to school you on how to read your own tarot cards. Each card has a meaning, each card interplays with other cards to affect each other’s meanings. Every tarot card has an upright and a reverse meaning.

Then you have to work out how the answer applies to your context and if the zodiac is playing along. So yes, you can read your own tarot cards. How, how easy is it, how can you learn, and where should you learn?

For the sake of balance, I will add there are some Tarot readers who believe differently. Some also believe that readings for yourself can be even more accurate than readings from other people.

There’s no right or wrong when it comes to the Tarot and I do believe in exposing you to different points of view:

When I first started to read, I started from myself and initially I felt whatever I am reading is coming out of my conscious. But, then I surrendered and read it for myself thinking that am reading it for anyone else.
