Tarot packs are made up of 78 cards split into four different decks — wands, swords, cups and pentacles. They can be read by anyone, but practice will always help to give a reliable reading. You must select the cards which you feel drawn to (they are upside down so you can’t see them) and then place them in a specific spread which will show the combinations of cards for your past, present and future readings.
The point of tarot is not to ‘see into the future’ as such, it is mainly to give you advice on a past, present and future situation which may present itself. As most readers will tell you, decisions should not be based on the answers the cards give you, but instead should be used as a guide for you to make your own decision.

This part is where most tarot readings fall down.
If your question is too narrow and doesn’t understand how the Tarot provides us guidance then it makes the guidance provided as useful as flipping a coin.
Asking a valid and specific question is also important for receiving accurate advice from the cards. Most readers recommend avoiding questions with yes or no answers, as these would be difficult to interpret and say that, instead, you should find a question which is specific and personal, but that could also have several possible answers.

If your cards contain pictures which you can understand and that connect with you, then it will be easier to interpret the advice that the cards are giving you and the answer will, therefore, be more reliable.
